Cowhorse - Cow Focused
These clinics are typically 2 days and are more cow-focused. The morning will start with an initial warm up , working towards getting your horse prepared to work a cow but still consistent with a a solid foundation to go do any job. These exercises are always very much based around getting your horse in a learning frame of mind by teaching them to look for an answer and that they are never wrong. We then apply these ideas to working the mechanical cow, teaching your horse confidence, foot placement, rating and most importantly that they know the basic, “just go with that Cow “
We also like to work the horse behind a roping Dummy where again the horse learns to track, rate and we can assist our students in learning position, using your legs to help move your horse around behind/beside the dummy, where to ride to help move a cow around a corner for fence runs, stopping and circling all in a very controlled and safe environment. This exercise is a great addition to going and doing anything with your horse as it is very job-related.
Lastly, live cattle… This is where we like to apply all the things we have practised earlier to cattle. this is about working still where you and your horse are at and building confidence. It comes down to practising and feeling ok to move a cow and go stop it. We like to explain how important it is to read and understand your cattle and adjust to each cow as they are all different. there is no such thing as a bad cow, we just learn to work with what we have and make a positive out of it. Working your horse on cattle needs to be a positive and enjoyable experience for both horse and rider.
Again the focus of these two days is to get a firm understanding of how we can put all these building blocks together to set the horse up for win on cattle, and then practise, practise, practise.
Cowhorse - Reining Work Focused
Typically 2 days the focus will be around all the maneuvers for the reined Cow horse, for challenges or to assist in gaining a very solid schooled horse that is willing guided and just a nice horse to ride.

The morning sessions on both days is going through what Scott and Lindee like to consistently visit while warming their horse up. it is about evaluating where your horse is at and what you as a rider and partner can do to help get their mind in a place of learning and looking for answers. It is not about getting them tired but them thinking and feeling of you.
The day will move around exercises to think about and become very sure of what you are trying to feel and teach your horse and yourself. It is important to understand what is taking place so you can problem-solve once you are home.
We will cover
Circling /guiding exercises, lead changes and departures, exercises for spins and a lot of focus on timing and feeling your horses feet. Transitions !! speed control and stopping. What are we looking for in a stop and exercises to help your horse hunt a stop. Backing up and again the importance of feeling the horses’ feet and being in time with them.
All of these areas will be covered and focused on and importantly at a level that is comfortable to you and your horse.
The intention is a weekend of understanding and being clear on what questions are you asking your horse, so they can work out how to answer you. Lots of problem-solving and time for discussion and learning from each other.
At the completion of the last day time will be spent on going through patterns and how both Scott and Lindee go into a show environment, how to prepare your horse, and any questions regarding showing in the reined work or patterns. It is a great chance to have practice at riding a pattern while both Scott and Lindee watch to help give feedback.

3 Day Cowhorse Clinic
These clinics will combine the cattle component and the reined work. It is based on what Scott and Lindee work on to achieve a willing guided horse. Each morning comprises of the warm up that both Scott and Lindee stay very consistent with. The weekend will weave elements of horsemanship through exercises to help educate your horse for the reined cow horse event and challenges or for a nicely rounded and educated horse. At the completion of the last day, clinic participants are taken through a basic pattern, discussing showing, pattern riding, gear requirements and any questions participants may have prior to going into an event. This is an opportunity to have a practice run at showing and riding with intention.
Horsemanship & Groundwork Clinic
This is a two-day clinic where each session (AM and PM) begins with an explanation of the groundwork that Scott and Lindee use and why. All the groundwork directly parallels the ridden exercises, which they have found beneficial for participants’ understanding and important for breaking it down for the horse. Groundwork provides riders with the opportunity to visually observe what they are asking of the horse. For example, if you are asking the horse to move its hindquarters over, establishing this in groundwork allows the rider to start recognizing and feeling how timing with the horse’s feet can significantly improve lightness and create a much better feel for both horse and rider.
Groundwork is a core component of Scott and Lindee’s program, offering endless opportunities to develop various aspects of a horse’s training. It fosters a better connection and understanding between rider and horse.
After focusing on groundwork, Scott and Lindee will guide participants on how to transfer what they have taught their horse on the ground into ridden work. Each day is structured with short groundwork sessions, immediately followed by ridden exercises to apply the skills learned.
The goal of this clinic is to equip participants with tools to prepare their horse for riding, enhance safety, and understand how to navigate challenges such as fear, stiffness, or resistance, encouraging the horse to move willingly with the rider. These clinics are suitable for all experience levels and provide a supportive, encouraging environment for learning about horsemanship.
Transition Forward Clinics
Working with Kylie Peters from Groundwork Therapy, Scott and Lindee host and travel across the country conducting Equine Assisted Therapy through Transition Forward Clinics. The name of these clinics is significant, as it reflects the core purpose of the weekend. These are small, intimate gatherings where participants are invited to bring their own horses or attend without a horse, allowing them to move at their own pace while transitioning through internal thoughts and feelings that may be holding them back.
As humans, we are not so different from horses—we both seek peace. Learning to understand what a horse experiences through horsemanship can provide profound insights into our own personal growth.
Ladies & Youth Clinics
We often hold Ladies Clinics and Youth Clinics, designed to create a safe and encouraging atmosphere for women to ride alongside fellow female riders. Our small group Ladies Clinics are particularly popular, filled with laughter, the opportunity to set new goals, and the chance to try new obstacles.
Youth Clinics are tailored for younger participants, providing a fun and engaging weekend with like-minded peers. These sessions focus on age-appropriate activities while teaching valuable horsemanship skills and offering practical advice for working with their horses.
Clinics may include a variety of activities, such as working with bison, mechanical cows, following the roping dummy, learning to rope, groundwork, horsemanship, trail riding, and plenty of fun—all in a safe and supportive environment.
Young Horse Clinics
Young Horse Weekends are held with small group sizes to ensure participants receive personalized help when working with greener horses. These clinics include groundwork techniques that Scott and Lindee use to help calm a young horse's mind and teach them how to move through situations that may cause confusion or worry.
Young Horse Clinics provide a supportive space where participants can work at their own comfort level while gaining a better understanding of how to develop confidence and clear thinking in a young horse. The groundwork sessions transition into ridden work, demonstrating how the skills applied on the ground are essential for effectively moving the horse while riding.
With a lifetime of experience working with young horses, Scott and Lindee are passionate about starting horses on the right path and progressing them with confidence and trust.
